Retaining talented employees

Updated: May 28

In a nutshell:

A leading global technology company recognizes the importance of retaining talented employees by supporting them in navigating their career paths amidst so much change. EmployAgility aligns well with the company’s commitment to lifelong learning, and diversity, equity and inclusion. The pilot in Switzerland has resulted in tangible benefits such as enhanced employee engagement, peer support groups, and internal talent mobility.

Objective:

The company was looking for innovative and practical ways to support its workforce remain “fit for the future” as part of it’s broader talent management strategy . It wanted to help its employees be agile, resilient, and well-equipped to navigate future challenges in the dynamic technology landscape. By including EmployAgility in its offering to employees, they are encouraging a culture of adaptability, continuous learning and resilience among its employees, thereby enhancing their employability and overall job satisfaction.

Solution:

Employees are provided with access to the EmployAgility online self-reflection module. Upon completion, employees are invited to participate in debrief workshops facilitated by internal EmployAgility ambassadors. In these fast-paced workshops participants focus on the topics of Learning Agility, Networking, Collaboration, Wellbeing, and Career Agility and engage in dialogue with their peers. They explore how these elements relate to their current professional situation and commit to taking purposeful action in one area to enhance their personal agility and employability.

Further skill-building opportunities are provided through additional workshops, and an EmployAgility Community, organized by employees for employees, provides a network for reflection, dialogue and support.

Results:

The initial cohorts of participants showed promising results:

Establishment of small Peer Support groups: Participants have initiated regular peer-to-peer meetings, deliberately spanning across generations and business units. They emphasize the significance of open dialogue and mutual support in addressing career-related challenges. One participant stated, "Usually you have to look externally for this kind of thing. It's great that the company I work for offers this support to us."

Internal Role Transition: One participant successfully transitioned to a new role within the organization, driven by insights gained from EmployAgility self-reflection and dialogue sessions. This tangible outcome highlights the immediate impact of the program in facilitating internal mobility and retaining talent within the organization.

Investing in employee development through EmployAgility, is a key part of how the company is ensuring its workforce remains agile, resilient, and well-equipped to navigate future challenges in the dynamic technology landscape.
