Support for employees during company reorganisation

In a Nutshell:

A team within a large retailer was looking to provide support for employees to deal with change during a major reorganisation.

 

Objective:

The objective was to kick off a strategy day with a high-energy, positive message that could then be interwoven throughout the day and introduce a roadmap to help people be open to the changes and build self-confidence in their ability to adapt to them.

 

Solution:

We kicked off the day with a short interactive presentation including a worksheet to be used during the day and in the final session of the day. The focus was on understanding how to use the changes occurring to develop in the 5 key areas of our working lives. We looked at how focussing on developing in one area can positively impact the other areas and what it means to use this framework each time you are confronted with a change that you didn't decide on.

 

Results:

The atmosphere of the strategy day was lifted and the focus set firmly on what can we do as individuals, teams and the organisation as a whole to adapt and thrive throughout the discussions - many of which were tough. At the end of the day in the last session the focus came back to the individual so that everyone went home with a positive action plan for helping themselves adapt and supporting at least one other person to do the same.
